Backstory: Prior to starting GEIPE treatment, the patient had gone through 12 rounds of chemotherapy. As a result, his immune system was very weak. On a trip to his village in the 4th week, he caught an infection which made his health progressively worse. The GEIPE therapy had to be discontinued after the 5th week.
The oncologist owner of the cancer hospital in Agra, India where this patient was being treated, did not provide any more patients for GEIPE treatment, though many new arrivals had oral cancers due to popularity of tobacco products in the area.
